Sue Osborn

Sue is a Gippsland based artist who until 2000 worked primarily in watercolour.
She now uses the airbrush to create her art works, that can now be on almost any scale and a broader  range of surfaces.
She has received awards in both mediums and her most recent works are on canvas.
Thematically her work is based on personal responses to the environment she is in at the time and Sue likes to catch the variability and impermanence of light and colour.

The art work is ‘GRANDIS’ –  ACRYLIC ON CANVAS. Approximate value is $650     Size:  240cm x 90cm

Artist Biography
I try to juxtapose uncharacteristic factors or situations to ask questions or evoke conscious or unconscious moods.
My work therefore holds a significant degree of meaning; it reflects journey, feelings and my personal position in today’s society.
In my practice as an artist, I like to use abstraction, because it interprets my mind set at any given moment; and it also allows me to express myself logically wherever possible and to see things freely.
I try to use nothingness as a landscape for thinking and expressing what I perceive. I see it as a meaninglessness that I am trying to understand, juxtaposition between void and entirety, myth or truth, spiritual and or fantasy.
The day to day struggle with reality seems to engulf my sense of balance and therefore my work. I see nothingness as a sign of unbalance, yet something to behold and treasure, I suppose that is a paradox.
The darkness of my paintings comes from a fear of truth…..a truth that scares me …..silence.

Nadine Lineham

 ‘Navigator’

Oil on Canvas

120cm x 90 cm

Value:
$2,000 - $3,000

Nadine Lineham lives and works in Gippsland.

The “Navigator Series” begins to explore life’s answers at a molecular level, observing the ‘bigger picture’ with a reverence for life interwoven or connected.
I have been influenced by the scientific theories known as “String Theory”.  It attempts to describe the structure of our universe. The industrial tape is used in industry as a device for demarcating space.
It closes off dangerous spaces and protects the public from hazards.  My exploration of this material allows me to constitute connections, like a universal web showing structure within a maze.
